Why do I sell this?
Well, I didn't mean to at first. I, Anders Moden, created this effect in 1997 and published it in Bruce Barnett's "Electronic Grimoire" (EG). The australian magician Tim Ellis, a member of EG, made a highly acclaimed tour with this effect as his signature piece in the US in the spring of 2002. Then the rumour about the effect reached the team behind David Blaine, and the TV-rights for the effect was instantly bought. But only hours after David Blaine performed it on TV, the "gold diggers" struck... An effect was sold on eBay that falsely claimed to be what Blaine had performed. Of course, crucial details was missing (for example; it did not contain the eye-popping restoration phase).
This "pretend-to-be" manuscript is unfortunately still in circulation. Also, recently a booklet became available at some magic dealers that describes the basic effect somewhat correctly, but very brief and not crediting me at all.
So I decided to "strike back" and collected all the ideas and variations that I, and friends of mine, have come up with since 1997. I hope that the word will spread and people will not have to spend money on inferior copies.
Matthew Field commented on this trick when performed by Tim Ellis on Monday Magic in New York: "This is one of the most astonishing things I've witnessed in a long, long time!"
Wayne Shipman followed up by saying, "The soda can restoration was drop-dead magic. Rooms full of jaded magicians were exclaiming "NO!" and "NO WAY!" During the Saturday evening show, the row behind me made a comment (they were magicians) during the soda can restoration: "The man's a personal friend of Satan..."
Spectacular effect. Absolutely ingenious. Best trick i have ever bought...handsdown." - Joshua
How does your brain work? Thank you for being so devious, I cannot wait to literally wipe peoples perceptions right out of their brains with this." - DavidTestimonials
"This trick is awesome." -- Jim, U.S.A.
"This trick is very easy. It's so easy that I'm very self-concious when I perform it because you think someone will figure it out (but they don't, don't worry).
The instructions are well illustrated and very clearly explained. Definately worth it."
